The New Animal Prints

▷▷▷The New Animal Prints

It used to be that when you went shopping for animal prints, you were imagining, zebra, giraffe, leopard, and tiger. Not anymore! What with the return to all things natural, earthy colors, natural materials, and the movement against animal skins, "animal prints" have come to mean something entirely different.

Now an animal print might mean a farm scene, showing pigs, cows, chickens, and ducks. It might mean a nature scene in the woods, perfect with raccoons, squirrels, and woodchucks. Or it could mean an Alaskan scene of bears, moose, elks, and salmon swimming upstream! If you have a desire to stay in Africa with your animal print, make it of a herd fleeing from drought, or of dissimilar groups of animals gathered around the watering hole.

Birds flying or nesting, deer grazing in a prairie, beavers construction a dam, are all being depicted on natural fabrics and wallpapers at this time. These prints are excellent for accessorizing on pillows and throws, and accenting a room with a singular wallpapered wall or borders.

Endangered species, such as the whale, dolphins, seals, polar bear, wolf, and the panda, are popular themes for both paintings and fabrics. You can't go wrong if you select one of them as a focal pint in your room.

Another place you might use these animal prints would be on a table cloth, bedspread, table runner, place mat, area rug, or even on a lamp base. Have some fun with it, but all the time remember to stay with the natural colors of the earth.
